Outcome

Select the Prometheus size cap from at least seven complete days of post-cleanup measurements.

Current state

Prometheus uses a provisional 90-day limit and 5 GB size cap after cardinality cleanup.

Work

Record active series and samples per second.
Record block and total directory growth.
Record effective oldest sample age and free space.
Review time above the 85 percent warning.
Choose and deploy the final cap.

Validation

Measurements cover at least seven complete days.
Rendered configuration validates.
Prometheus is recreated and reports the new running limit.
Dashboards and rules still return expected data.
